Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair
The 9th Annual Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair and Sustainable Homes Tour was held on Saturday, September 12th at the City of Lawrence Community Building. Sponsored by the City of Lawrence Waste Reduction and Recycling Division, the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair provides an umbrella that allows a wide range of energy conservation organizations and companies to reach a broad audience in a trade show setting. This event has grown to attract more than 600 attendees who enjoy learning from an expert line up of speakers and presenters as well as a variety of exhibitors representing for-profit and not-for-profit businesses, and government agencies.

2009 Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour
The Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour occured on Saturday, September 12th in conjunction with the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair. As a part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour, the primary purpose of this tour is education. The focus is energy-saving techniques and sustainability through building design, efficient appliances, and use of green materials during remodeling. The tour also provides helpful, real-world examples of costs and how to save money with federal, state, and local incentives.
